Day 145 Bulbul Among The Berries
This scene of the Cape Bulbul eating the red berries looked so Christmassy.
Day 125 Larva Of The Garden Acraea Butterfly
This caterpillar is the larva of the Garden Acraea Butterfly, they feed on the leaves of the Wild Peach Tree. Sometimes there are so many on the tree at once that you can hear them chomping. These little caterpillars are the favourite food of the Klaas's Cuckoo.
Day 11 Secretary Bird In The Wild, What A Surprise!
On a trip up the West Coast, we were amazed to sight a Secretary Bird alongside the Road. We screeched to a halt, reversed and there it was, busy trying to catch something in the grass. It was so thrilling to see as this is the very first time we have ever seen one in the wild, we watched it until it flew off way back onto the farmlands.
So happy to know they are still surviving here in the Cape. We sighted this bird just a few kilometres before Velddriff on the West Coast of the Cape.
Day 9 Saddest Times And Everyone Stands Together Against Violence
So much violence and killing of innocent people. So sad that we as intelligent humans cannot live in harmony and that in order to prove religion we need to descend into such barbaric measures. Can't we just talk and discuss our differences?
In this cartoon 87 year old Underzo from the Asterix comics came out of retirement to also comment in solidarity with cartoonists. This picture says it all.
Day 6 Art In Photography
What a spectacular find! A photo turned into art by a photographer Willem Fritz https://www.facebook.com/willem.fritz it has such a mesmerising pattern and the colour is so stunning. An Agapanthus like you never imagined, so fresh and beautiful.

Day 5 Little Chick Lost
Kittlitz's Plover chick all alone on the big pond. Looking so vulnerable and fragile in this new wide world. Hopefully it will grow to adulthood and bring forth many more.
